IJMB
 

The Interim Joint Matriculation Board Examination (IJMBE) is a qualifying examination into Nigerian and Foreign Universities. The IJMB examination is primarily for Advanced Level subjects for Direct Entry into 200 level in the Universities.

The syllabus for the IJMB Examination is compiled in line with international standard educational requirements and admission requirements of various Universities, Nigeria and overseas.

The IJMB syllabus is designed to be covered in only one (1) academic session over a period of two (2) semesters. The content of the IJMB syllabus is structured in such a way to ensure that all the topics in the IJMB subjects are covered within the two semesters. A list of relevant IJMB reading texts is provided at the end of each IJMB subject syllabus to guide the institutions, lecturers and students in the course of running the IJMB programme.

For effective coverage of the IJMB syllabus, a minimum of 8-10 lecture hours per week is recommended, IJMB practical and field works included. The IJMB syllabus may be revised every eight (8) years.

SELECTION OF IJMB SUBJECT COMBINATION

Candidates for the IJMB Advanced Level Examination should refer to the current JAMB brochure for appropriate IJMB subject combinations leading to the proposed course of study in the University. Each IJMB candidate shall enroll and sit for only three (3) subjects for the final IJMB examination.

 

Approval

IJMB is a national educational programme approved by the Federal Government, coordinated nationwide by Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, with different affiliated Study Centres across the country. The IJMB programme provides a platform that enables successful IJMB candidates to secure direct admission into 200 Level in Nigerian Universities and Abroad.

Certification

IJMBE is certified by Nigeria University Commission (NUC) and Joint Admission Matriculation Board (JAMB) as an A'level programme that qualifies candidates to secure direct admission into 200 Level in the Universities upon successful completion of the IJMB programme.

JUPEB
 

The Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board (JUPEB) is a national examinations body approved by the Federal Government of Nigeria in December 2013. It was formally established in April 2014 by a consortium of ten (10) partnering universities led by the University of Lagos.

The board has the responsibility of conducting common and standard examinations for the candidates, who have been exposed to a minimum of one-year approved courses in the different Universities’ Foundation and/or Diploma Programmes and are seeking Direct Entry admissions into University courses at the 200 Level in Nigerian and partnering foreign universities.
 

SELECTION OF JUPEB SUBJECT COMBINATION

Candidates for the JUPEB Advanced Level Examination should refer to the current JAMB brochure for appropriate JUPEB subject combinations leading to the proposed course of study in the University. Each JUPEB candidate shall enroll and sit for only three (3) subjects for the final JUPEB examination.

Candidates for JUPEB shall register for 3 A’Level subjects depending on the intended course of study in the university. Being a standard examination, JUPEB result is not accessible online but it is printed in hard copy.

UNIVERSITIES DIPLOMA

  A Diploma Program has duration between 2 or 4 semesters depending on course and the awarding school. The accelerated programs leading to the award of the Diploma in various courses. Upon completion of this program, students shall proceed for their degree via DIRECT ENTRY to 200level in their chosen specialization. This programme is designed to provide an alternative admission pathway for students seeking DIRECT ENTRY admission into University and has become an established route of progression to 200level any choice of universities who recognize the awarded certificates for its Direct-Entry admission. We are affiliated to the following schools for their diploma programs;
1. Al-Hikmah University

2. LAUTECH 
3. Kwara State University.

NAGCE
 

NABTEB ADVANCED LEVEL GCE (NAGCE) HAS BEEN – APPROVED BY THE GOVERNMENT FOR DIRECT ENTRY ADMISSION INTO 200LEVEL IN THE UNIVERSITY FOR ALL COURSES.

NAGCE was first introduced and conduct in 2015/16 for students who satisfied the requirements. NAGCE is a yearly program for secondary school leavers who intend to further their education in the University.

Students for the NAGCE program shall undergo serious academic work in preparation for the examination, to reduce the menace of examination malpractices.

The NAGCE final examination is conducted in Nov/Dec every year.

NAGCE is an equivalent and alternative program to IJMB, JUPEB and CAMBRIDGE A’Level programs.

NAGCE certificate holders are qualified for admission into 200Level to study any course of choice, depending on the selected subject combinations.

All courses are available for science, Art and social science students.

ELIGIBILITY/REQUIREMENT     

  • Candidates for the NAGCE program must have graduated from secondary school with at least 5 relevant credits in WAEC/NECO/NABTEB at not more than two sittings.

  • Candidates who already finished secondary school final year and awaiting results can also apply.

  • Candidates with unsatisfactory Ijmb, Jupeb OR Cambridge results can apply.

  • Lectures, attendance and continuous assessments are compulsory during the course of the NAGCE program.
